Lectures about Prokletije rock lizard at the exhibition „Unique Montenegro“ of Natural History Museum

Lectures about Prokletije rock lizard for the students of local schools were given by Dr Katarina Ljubisavljević. The events took place at the exhibition „Unique Montenegro“ of Natural History Museum set in the Ministry of Culture at Cetinje, old royal capital of Montenegro. The first lecture on some interesting facts about lizards of Montenegro was intended for students in lower grades. The second one, on the topic „Prokletije Rock lizard – a symbol of uniqueness of Montenegrin nature“ was given to students in higher grades. The herpetofaunal richness of Montenegro was presented, with a special focus on some endemic Balkan species such as Dinaric rock lizards. The importance of preserving their habitats was stressed. The students were told about the history of the discovery of the Prokletije rock lizard in Montenegro. They were also informed about the aims and main results of two Dinarolacerta projects. The temporary exhibition „Unique Montenegro“ runs from 15th February to 15th March 2017.
